#18 Recap

My first solo gloaming ride.

It was a good adventure and release, but not the same as climaxing with some riff raff company.  Hense #MasturGLOAMation joke.

I think I found my new favorite lookout spot even though nothing impressive on a map.

I was proud to get myself home by 9:30 as planned.

I can't believe I want to do even more intense trips in the future.  Like way more biting off more than I can chew kinds stuff.

I need to learn to take it a step at a time.

Untitled

A relatively short ride.
Some hills involved.
One rest stop planned.
5:30pm Sunday the 22nd at Veteran memorial flag pole, corner of N. Figueroa and York Blvd.  Grab a drink and snack ahead of time.  We roll out at 5:45. I'm trying to get everyone home by 9:30 or sooner.

#17 Recap

Firstly,  I apologize to Chris and Stella for leaving so soon.  We rolled out at 5:43 considering the amount of time it took to drive to the top and make the lookout before sunset.  It's kind of the nature of the ride.  I try to always time it out.  It's not a necessary feature, but one I've stubbornly stuck by.

Overall, it was another nice downhill run without incident.  A couple expected falls, but no injuries. Big thanks to Eric and Roy for driving.

Please plan for a new gloaming ride on the 22nd of June.  A much more local and less complicated route but this time with some climbing involved.  To those who fear hills, don't worry.  This is never a race and there's usually a payoff in exchange for a couple huffs and puffs.  Details TBA.

LAST MINUTE DOWNHILL

THE WORLD IS ENDING.   MIGHT AS WELL ENJOY A DOWNHILL RUN BEFORE THE ALIENS ATTACK.  SUNDAY, JUNE 8TH, 5:30 PM AT ALTADENA ALEHOUSE.  BIKE WITH GOOD BRAKES AND A HEADLIGHT.  BRING BEER/SNACKS.  SO LONG.

Gloaming Ride # 16 Recap

Downhill mountain run with Hadley and Piper. Box of wine and a huge spread meant for 10 people consumed by these manaics.  John Vu rode solely all day to the peak to meet us.  John was too wiped out do our descent and took our shuttle van back to the alehouse at the end.

Deranged Cyclepaths (Part II)

Sunday September 29th, 3:00pm - Meet at Pasadena - Memorial Park.

Shuttle to top of Mt. Lowe toll rd., descend to Inspiration Point to have an impromptu picnic, and continue down to the bottom.

Bikes must have good brakes and trail friendly tires.

This will be somewhat dangerous and not recommended to new riders.

Please confirm with me if you are coming as I will need to make a spot for you in a vehicle.  I would like for people to be ready to leave no later than 3:30pm.

#15 Recap

Thank you Nathan, Amanda, Joe, and Enzo for sharing this journey with me.

We made it up to the radio tower on the first peak of the Verdugo mountain just before sunset. We bombed the Glendale side on Beaudry. Then, the crew were willing to hop the fence near the country club to travel down the paved Glendale river until we got to the end. Finally, Enzo found a ramp out and we were on our way home.

We had over 2000 ft in climbing. A total of only 22 miles.

I've been waiting to do this for so long. At last it's done. Hopefully I will be inspired soon to add one or two more before the "gloaming season" ends...

Go Climb That Black Mountain You Big Idiot

Sunday, July 28th. 5:30pm /
Figueroa St. and York Blvd at the Memorial Flagpole.

So here we go...

You aren't going to like this one.  If you go, you will cry and wished you had stayed home.

A lot of unnecessary climbing.  Mostly off-roading.  You may get wet.  Bring your drivers license.

RECAP - Deranged Cyclepaths Part I

I had a wonderful weekend guys.

Thank you.

Looks like I scouted out Deranged Cyclepaths Part II.  The plan is to shuttle bikes and people to the top of mount Lowe at the same time of day that I did it.  Best ride of my life.  Clouds parted immediately! It was fun, warm, and beautiful. Steven knows.
