"Night speeds by, And we, Aeneas, lose it in lamenting. Here comes the place where cleaves our way in twain. Thy road, the right, toward Pluto's dwelling goes, And leads us to Elysium. But the left Speeds sinful souls to doom, and is their path To Tartarus th' accurst." *
"In no fix'd place the happy souls reside. In groves we live, and lie on mossy beds, By crystal streams, that murmur thro' the meads: But pass yon easy hill, and thence descend; The path conducts you to your journey's end.” This said, he led them up the mountain's brow, And shews them all the shining fields below. They wind the hill, and thro' the blissful meadows go." - * Virgil, Aeneid (6.641)
This is the second to last ride for this set of Gloaming. Please arrive early to leave at 7:30pm. As usual, there will be some off-road trails and hills.
"The spirit that I have seen may be the devil, and the devil hath power to assume a pleasing shape." - Hamlet

UPDATE - Total of 21 miles. If you don't like riding hills or off-road, then this probably won't be a ride for you.

It's doable. As you know I have ridden most every ride so far on a road bike. Last one was ion single speed and it was hilliest of all.. It's all up to you. Next season of rides will be even longer and harder. So... yeah. I hope you enjoy your trip. I would like to do something like this soon before it starts raining again.
ReplyDeletethanks! ok i will try to be there.. not worried about hills as much as the off road/mtn bike trails. i got skinny 23s on mine but they have been good to me so far!
